The relation to FR Clothing and Personal Protective Equipment

For a product in the market to be labeled flame resistant it needs to be made up of materials that were treated (treated FR) or made from materials that have inherent FR properties (inherent FR).  Treated FR is made by a chemical bath or a spray that is added to a fabric that is naturally flammable.  This mixture of chemicals will make typical fabrics for example cotton and cotton/nylon blends into wonderful FR clothing.  At the end of the process they will have the FR needed to compete in the market.
